CLAIRMONT MANSION ROBBED!

Daylight Heist Stuns New York's High Society

New York, NY — In a daring caper that’s left the upper crust shaken and stirred, the estate of Mr. Richard Clairmont — noted philanthropist, industrialist, and mover-and-shaker — was plundered in broad daylight yesterday.

Gone missing are priceless works of art, including Renoir’s The Fisherman, van Gogh’s Two Women in the Woods, and Rembrandt’s Judas Repentant, along with jewelry, antiques, and objets d’art. The household staff was found bound and blindfolded, but otherwise unharmed. Authorities say the gang got in and out slicker than a greased weasel. No suspects have been named, but whispers of a “foreign job” are already making the rounds.

A ROYAL VISITOR HITS THE SCENE

Infante Álvaro of France Attends Gala at the Met

Crown Prince Infante Álvaro, dapper as a tailor’s dummy and making quite the splash on his American tour, was spotted last night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, flanked by none other than Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia. The Prince admired the museum’s European collection and reportedly paused before a Vermeer with great interest.

Sources say the Mayor called the Prince “a fine fellow with a keen eye for culture.” Álvaro is expected to continue his tour later this week with a stop at Fort Ticonderoga.
